Troubleshooting/Reporting Network and Packet Loss Issues

Network and packet loss can be very tough to diagnose without the appropriate information. For us to be able to properly diagnose and resolve packet loss or network related issues we will need the following:

  1. The source (your IP) IP and destination (the server IP) IP.
  2. A description of the exact issue you're experiencing and exactly what time you experienced the issue.
  3. A MTR to both the destination (server) IP and the gateway IP on the same block. The gateway MTR will allow both you and us to compare and see if the issue is specific to your server or the network.
MTR for Linux users:

mtr <IP Address>

MTR for Windows users:

Download WinMTR and use the GUI interface.
